Reviews

Great deal looking forward to actually skiing on them.

"So far so good, though your local dealer here suggested since I had always worn 27.5 boots that getting the 28 may end up being a little big over time."

— Tom B. (5/5)

Can't wait for the snow

"Can't wait for the snow to fly to try my new Apex Boots, this is actually my second pair. I got my first pair of Apex. Boots over 10 years ago, and it was life-changing as a member of the National Ski Patrol. I can be in my boots from 9 to 10 hours a day. These boots are so comfortable. They Keep my feet warm all day. I highly recommend these boots."

— ronald e. (5/5)

Love these boots

"All day comfort. Warm even on the coldest days. Great walk ability. Exceeds my performance needs. They may not be everyone, but I’ve been skiing since 1976 and it’s the best I’ve ever had."

— MICHAEL M. (5/5)

Skiing pain free

"So far so good. Only got to use them a few times before season ended. Very comfortable and got good performance. Love the adjustability and confident I will have them set up perfectly next season."

— Stanley B. (5/5)

Nice and comfortable boots

"I haven't ski with with boots yet. . . Next season joy. . but I have tried them on and work with getting the adjustments to get the fit right with the binding. They are comfortable to wear, which was the prime reason for buying as I am starting to struggle with Ski boots comfort. very happy at the moment with these. We shall see if they perform on the slopes next season. . Fingers cross."

— Andrew G. (4/5)

In Japan

"When I walked after taking off the shells, it felt unbelievably comfortable — more comfortable than I had ever experienced before. At the same time, when actually skiing, they provided a solid and secure hold, with no issues even on icy slopes. Above all, using them in Japan gives me a real sense of exclusivity and pride."

— 俊彦里. (5/5)

New pair for next 8

"First pair lasted me 8 years with a little support from Apex, ordered another for the next 8. Thanks Apex"

— Larry E. (5/5)

"I am excited to have a boot that not only performs but is comfortable and keeps my feet warm in extreme conditions. The convertible, walking boot and cabriolet design. Make sure that the pressure points don't freeze my feet."

— Paul (5/5)

Comfort without compromise

"My second pair. Won’t ski in any other boots again. Can ski anything on the hill with these. The decrease in performance is unnoticeable but the increase in comfort is staggeringly evident."

— Nimish P. (5/5)

New pair

"I bought a pair of VS Antero 5 years ago replacing an earlier pair of Apex boots. They were the most comfortable boots for me as an adaptive instructor on and off my skis. I decided to replace them starting next season and purchased a new pair for next season."

— Thomas S. (5/5)

Q&A

How does the weight of these compare to regular ski boots and bindings setup?: They are either the same or slightly lighter depending on the alpine ski boot.
Is the Antero VS Carbon lighter than the previous version: It is the same weight as the original Gen 4 Antero VS
What size screw does the middle buckle take? Mine came out after a few years of skiing: We would be happy to ship you a few. Please contact our HQ for parts orders. 303-530-3340.
I haven’t seen anything about how they perform in terrain parks or off jumps and was wondering how they would do with that? Nothing hard or crazy but some basic stuff like small or medium jumps and small boxes.: They're great in the park and slopestyle.
Hi I have a wide foot what is the wide of a boot can I get: The width or last of the boots is 101mm in a size 26. Depending on your foot size, the last will widen and narrow as the sizes go up and down from 26.
Does these boot works for a high instep or wide feet?: Yes. They are uniquely suited to conform to your unique foot shape because of the BOA Fit System lacing technology.
Which country is the Antero boots manufactured? Thanks: They are built in China.
I have extremely wide feet. Would these work for my feet I am a F or G in width: We would advise sizing up from the recommended size on our sizing chart to ensure more width. Our boots will give you a very good chance of extra width forgiveness. But, there is a limit. It would be best if you could visit us in Golden or a dealer close to you to try on different sizes.
What size would you suggest for a male with a US shoe size of 11.5 and currently comfortably using a Lange boot with a size of 28.5?: We would suggest an Apex 29 mondo.
Awesome boots! I love my old orange ones. What’s the weight of each model of boot? What’s the stiffness rating of the new crestone?: Crestone are 2130 g each. Antero are 2040 g each. Blanca are 2110 g each. Crestone flex is adjustable from 95-105-115.
How wide is the last?: 101 mm
Good morning, Will you be making more of the smaller sizes again? I am a US size 9 with rather wide feet. I don't ski in the US recently, we ski in Europe and Japan, so was looking to get these online if possible. Thank you: Yes, we certainly are making more and they will be available this September for preordering. They should ship in October of 2023.
I need new liners and heel toe plates for my Antero boots. I have bought them before but don't see them on the site. Can I still get them?: No problem. You need to call us to place an order. 303-530-3340.
I REALLY want to try these out, but I am hesitant to spend $900 and have no way to test drive them first. Any ideas?: We have select areas of the US that you can demo them. Visit https://www.apexskiboots.com/pages/where-to-try to see if a demo center is close to you or where you may be headed to ski.
I ski and snowboard can you use boots for snowboarding also. They look extremely comfortable and solid: You can use them for both skiing and snowboarding.
I am 68. Obviously, my funds are somewhat limited. But years ago I had my SX92Equipes mysteriously disappear. Yes, I miss the comfort associated. Your reviews are spectacular. I have just a couple questions. I am going to suggest these boots to my youngest son who is 21. He wants to change boots at the end of this season. He is a shoe size 9-9.5US. We live in Irvine, California. He doesn't know about your boots. He said that he wanted a stiffer boot to ski. (1)Can these boots do hard slaloming as well as powder? (2)How would he adjust the stiffness? Thanks for your suggestions. Best, David Kubit 949-246-7575: Thanks for reaching out to us, David. These boots can very effectively do slaloming and powder. There are instructions included with the boots as well as videos we provide online to show how to adjust stiffness. We are also happy to instruct over-the-phone. Being an aggressive skier, he would be best suited in the size 27. Please feel free to call us anytime at our HQ 303-530-3340.
Are replacement heal and toe plates available ? What do they cost and how do I order them ?: Yes. Heels and toes. $50 for a set of heels and $50 for a set of toes with hardware included. You order them by calling our office and placing an order. 303-530-3340.
Can Apex boots be mail ordered?: Yes.
Can an older antero boot fit into the new frame? If so is the frame only available for purchase?: An older Antero can fit in the Antero VS. Please give us a call for options. 303-530-3340.
My current boot size is 27.5 but is very tight (my toe touches the front pushing against shell, not just liner). Do you recommend 28 or 29? I'm women's 12 men's 10.5. Also I read flex is 120? Is that accurate? Any adjustments for more intermediate skiers (blues and easier blacks)?: 29 is perfect. You will love it. The flex out-of-the-box is 125. It can be adjusted down to 115. Also keeping a looser setting on the BOA lacing system will soften the flex if that is what you would like.
